GLP supports North Charter School with £1,600 as part of their Support Our School Initiative

We were delighted to visit Charter North School North in Dulwich recently to see firsthand how a £1,600 donation from Greater London Properties is helping to support students and enhance learning across the school.

The donation forms part of GLP’s community initiative, where vendors can choose a local school or charity to receive 10% of our sales fee. In this instance, a recent vendor selected Charter School North and we are proud to see that contribution already making a difference.

Strengthening learning and opportunity
During our visit, we met Head Teacher Mr Mark Payne, who shared insight into the school’s priorities and the challenges it is working to address.
“We’ve got two main challenges that we are focusing on. One is academic and that’s supporting all students to succeed, particularly our most disadvantaged students, and the other one is balancing that with finance to ensure that we’re able to invest in the school and the facilities so that the students get the best possible education.”

The importance of community support
Mr Payne also highlighted the vital role of the school’s PTA in enhancing student experience:
“We couldn’t do without the PTA. The PTA raise huge amounts for the school and enable us to do lots of the small interesting projects that we don’t necessarily get to invest in.”
He shared how this support helps create meaningful opportunities for students: For example, the PTA raise money to support one of our trips to Jamie’s Farm for some of our most disadvantaged students to get them out into the country and actually support their well-being and development.

Supporting long-term improvements
The timing of GLP’s donation has been especially valuable, contributing towards ongoing improvements in the school’s facilities.
Mr Payne explained:
“We’re in the process of redeveloping and renewing our maths department and refurbishing all of the classrooms. The PTA had raised some money to help us buy new interactive whiteboards and the money which came in is enabling us to finish off and complete the entire department. As a result, from September 2026, the whole maths department will benefit from brand new interactive whiteboards, supporting enhanced teaching and learning across the school".

Kate, Greater London Properties
Kate from GLP commented:
“I am excited we were able to support the school and see how it’s making a difference, it's the reason why we brought our agency home to our area to bring our initiative into this community. We are delighted".

A commitment to local communities
This initiative reflects GLP’s ongoing commitment to supporting the communities where we live and work. By linking property sales with local schools and charities, we aim to ensure that every transaction contributes directly to positive local impact. We started this initiative 5 years ago after covid from our central London branches and have already donated thousands of pounds to schools across the country. We’re just delighted to now bring this initiative to our home patch in Dulwich and Herne Hill where we can directly support our children’s schools and the communities we are part of every day.

If you would like to hear more about glp and are thinking of selling now or in the future, please have a chat to us so we can explain what we do differently.

Warm Regards
Kate
