One seller’s experience with GLP

One seller’s experience with GLP

Find out what small changes needed to be made by GLP to make a property that had no offers for months, turn into a property with two offers in the first 10 days of listing (including a cash buyer!)...

Leonie and Steve White had put their flat on the market in Covent Garden last year, choosing a large National Agency with the assumption this would provide multi branch exposure across London and the surrounding areas. The estate agent had offered them the highest Valuation on their property and assured them it would be a quick sell which was ideal with the imminent arrival of their first baby.

After two months on the market, and no offers, their agent suggested they lowered the price and with the risk of losing the property they had an offer on, they took the advice.

Another month in and a newborn in tow it became clear that the flat wasn’t going to sell which is when they picked up the phone to our Sales team at Greater London Properties.

“We were torn originally with which estate agent to use, however the promise of a higher sales price along with the marketing spiel of a National campaign promoting our flat made us go with the larger estate agent. In hindsight we realised our mistake. Dan at GLP, had been in touch with us throughout the first 3 months and when we were asked to consider yet another price reduction, we felt it was time to take the property off the market and speak to Greater London Properties.

After a chat to the team and a fantastic introduction to their decorators, Dan advised a full repaint and touch up. The property went back on the market a month later looking refreshed and modernised and we had 2 offers in the first 10 days, one being a cash buyer.

From start to finish, the advice, speed and efficiency of the team meant that we turned the sale around in 6 weeks and still managed to buy our original perfect family apartment. The difference with using an independent local agency was immense, from the niche knowledge to the constant communication – it was simply a much better experience”

Steve White, Covent Garden Vendor - 2022

Our GLP team were obviously delighted to be able to provide that bit of extra help Leonie and Steve needed to ensure they sold their flat for the best possibly value. Property prices in Central London vary street by street so it is imperative you use an agency with intricate knowledge of the area.
